We rounded off a great first day by having a late afternoon mooch around the remains of this derelict coke works. I’d spotted these intruiging looking buildings a couple of years previously when exploring The Blue Power Plant, but we had a Eurotunnel to catch so hadn’t time to investigate further.

The light was a nightmare – either too dark to see what you were doing, or blinded by beams of the bright sunshine shining in! Dan was the only one of us who ventured very far up, although he didn’t quite make it to the top.
