Explore #6 of the ‘Love Bears’ Tour
Continuing our Georgian road trip, we spent a great day exploring the countryside for abandoned ‘Houses of Culture’. These were once grand village halls / cultural centres which formed the hubs for community gatherings during Soviet times.
We found three during the day, each with their own character…
The ‘Blue’ House of Culture
Our first find was this lost gem, abandoned on the outskirts of a small rural village. It was memorable for the ultra-rare surviving bust of Stalin out the front – minus part of his nose, and complete with blue paint job!
The view of the main hall from the upstairs balcony…
Looking back from the main stage…
The ‘Pink’ House of Culture
I’ve dubbed the second House of Culture the pink one, after the colour of the main hall. Another one-grand entrance, now forgotten and decaying…
The ‘Collapsed’ House of Culture
Completing the cultural triumvirate is this burned and collapsed edition… now feeling very sorry for itself, so we just grabbed a few quick shots before heading off.
Thanks for coming by.

LOVE this set of pictures Adam – absolutely beautful locations and shots – plus being Georgia adds another layer of wonder.
Lovely pics, could you please add locations too? That would be great!
Thank you – I never share more location information that already divulged in my posts.
