Explore #10 of the Berlin or Bust Tour
Day Four
After three long days of exploring from dawn to dusk it was finally time for James and I to point his trusty Seat Ibiza West and head home. But we weren’t quite finished yet – what better way to break up the massive drive from Berlin to Calais than by adding yet more distance with detours via a couple more sites on our way!
After yet another stupidly early start at around 5am we arrived at our first location a couple of hours away whilst many locals were probably still in bed.
This small former hospital / care home is set in picturesque countryside, ideal for convalescing. We spent a pleasant hour or so in the early morning sunshine before reluctantly moving on to our next location.
It was a lovely sunny morning, so we made our way straight up to the attic and worked our way down through the building from there.
There were still quite a few beds left dotted around, such as this one in a bedroom.
Peeling paint on the first floor landing.
“The ballad of the Old Aged Derpers (OADs)”! 🙂
An old press machine in the basement.
Lots of records and various papers were strewn around…
A physio treatment room in the basement.
…and I’ll leave you with a couple more wheelchair shots.
Thanks for rolling past.
Cheers
